Renae Stone is a professional club vocalist and acoustic musician from Sydney, Australia.
From an early age, Renae formed a love of music, writing songs, creating dance routines and making home recordings on her old Sony tape player. Renae received vocal and dance tuition at the Johnny Young Talent school from the age of 4, and went on to learn flute and guitar before graduating from the Hunter School of Performing Arts in 2003. After a successful run with Newcastle cover bands Secret Society, Liquid and Full Circle, Renae moved to Sydney to pursue a career in music.
Over the past decade, Renae has continually been developing her stage persona and finetuning her vocal style, which in turn has presented many exciting opportunities including becoming a finalist in Australian Idol and the Telstra Road to Discovery, supporting Australia’s got Talent winner Jack Vidgen on his 2012 tour, and having the opportunity to perform in Japan and at hundreds of venues and events across Sydney and NSW.
Some of the prestigious venues Renae has performed at include Ivy, Opera Bar, World Bar, Piano Room, Shore Club, Paragon Hotel and the Quay Grand, with current residencies held at venues such as Customs House Bar, the Orient Hotel and O’Malley’s Hotel.
Versatility is Renae’s forte, boasting an impressive repertoire of over 600 songs across many genres including dance, pop, rock, soul, house, r&b, funk, jazz and blues; however she still maintains her own unique style and approach, with songs being performed differently every time.
Renae’s strong, sultry vocals dominate her acoustic performances, and whether it be a raw and intimate solo show, or a funky and uptempo duo/trio performance, Renae will be sure to entertain you. Renae also performs as an energetic and charismatic club vocalist/MC, with the ability to freestyle and improvise over any style DJ set with a particular love of commercial, electro and soulful house.
